The Witness™ Model P9 Shock and Vibration Recorder

Manufacturers, shippers, carriers, and customers are all affected by damages that routinely occur during the shipping process. These damages often cannot be compensated due to multiple carriers and numerous stops before the final destination. Determining the point at which a shipment sustained damaged is virtually impossible without supporting incident information.

Recouping such losses as the shipping or receiving party is fraught with difficulty. The unique capabilities of the Witness™ Asset Protection System are ideally suited for protecting the integrity of packaging and shipping operations.

Unlike competing technologies, the Witness™ Box records time, date, force, and direction of impact to precisely determine the point of damage along a shipments delivery route.  This allows satisfactory and accurate resolution of shipping claims.

Independent Witness Inc. has developed the Witness™ Asset Protection System as a "black box" data recorder for shipment monitoring and packaging use.  The device:

  • is practically maintenance-free and self-powered (with a battery life of 5 to 10 years)
  • has Integrated shock and vibration database to store and analyze your data (optional)
  • is remotely accessible through a wireless component
  • is priced much lower than existing solutions

Over time a carrier’s history can be recorded and stored to analyze overall delivery performance. The Witness™ Box is also equipped so monitored information can be accessed real-time via the Internet, with summary and detailed data for every event a package is subjected to during transport.

This array of information allows all parties using the Witness™ Box the ability to make appropriate and substantiated claims, should damage occur. In addition, objective, factual information reflecting a packages shipping history is useful for processing timely and relevant insurance claims.

This ability to effectively recoup damage costs and assign responsibility for package mishandling doesn't just mean protection for products shipped or received. Over time, the significant value comes in streamlining an organizations entire business model for peak efficiency. That is total asset protection.
